Toluene diisocyanate 80/20,  (TDI 80/20)

Toluene diisocyanate 80/20,  (TDI 80/20),  is a toxic and highly reactive organic compound. The chemical formula for TDI is CH3C6H3(NCO)2. TDI is often marketed as TDI 80/20.

It is a mixture blend of 80% 2,4-toluene diisocyanate and 20% 2,6-toluene diisocyanate. The clear to pale yellow liquid organic compound is toxic, has a sharp odor, and is highly reactive. It is used in the manufacture of polyurethane flexible foam (slab/molding) and non-foam urethanes.

MAIN PROPERTIES AND USAGERS: 

TDI80/20 is used in the production of flexible polyurethane foam and other polyurethane applications including elastomers, synthetic leather, coated fabrics, paints and adhesives.  It is an aromatic isocyanate that is produced for reaction with polyols to form polyurethanes. It is widely used in the production of polyester-based soft foam, high-bearing sponges, semi-rigid ester foam, and paint.

PRECAUTION: TDI80/20 containers should be kept properly closed and stored indoors in a well-ventilated and fire-proof place. When opening the containers, operators should wear , gloves and rubber aprons. Containers should be handle carefully to avoid damage. In case of leakage, transfer it into another proper container in a well-ventilated and dry place. When opening the cap, use an opener or wrench. Once the cap is loosened, pause until the high pressure in the container equalizes with the atmospheric pressure, then open the cap slowly.
